Leave It To Beaver was a very popular family sitcom that enjoyed a long run of 234 episodes from 1957 to 1963. The show was about the Cleaver family, dad Ward, mum June and sons Wally and Theodore aka Beaver. The boy's friends also played a prominent role, especially Wally's friend Eddie Haskell. Starring Hugh Beaumont, Barbara Billingsley, Tony Dow and Jerry Mathers as the Beaver...as every episode reminded us in the introduction. The show was still going strong when it ended, but with Tony Dow finishing high school and Jerry Mathers about to start high school they had other things they needed to do with their lives. Leave It To Beaver was created by Joe Connelly and Bob Mosher who earlier had pioneered the 3-camera production technique with their Amos n' Andy Show sitcom and in the 60's would create another big comedy success with The Munsters.
