The Fugitive, an action-adventure-mystery-thriller drama, was one of the big shows of the 60s. It "owned" the 10pm Tuesday evening slot for 4 years as the other two networks never even bothered to mount a serious challenge to the show. Starring David Janssen as Dr. Richard Kimble, the falsely accused murderer of his wife who was both on the run and in pursuit of the real killer. The final episode in the summer of '67 was watched by some 78 million people making it the most ever watched television program at that time, a record it would hold into the 80s.
